The royal Savoy court was the first big promoter of Vermouth di Torino in the late XVIII century, facilitating Torino’s growth & popularity into becoming the “Kingdom of Vermouth.” It is now defined as “an aromatised wine obtained in Piedmont using Italian wine only…alcohol, flavoured mainly with Artemisia from Piedmont…with other herbs & spices.”
